CUSTOM PLUGIN DEVELOPMENT

Build the feature your business actually needs.

A better checkout. A useful integration. A new plugin to sell. I turn a clear business requirement into carefully planned software for WordPress, WooCommerce and connected systems.

I am Michael, and I handle your plugin project personally, from defining the approach and agreeing the scope to development, testing and handover.

Illustrative logic. Your requirements define the real solution.

Platforms and tools selected for your project.

START WITH THE PROBLEM

Your process should shape the software.

Standard plugins can take a business a long way. The difficulty comes when a crucial step still depends on a spreadsheet, a repeated manual task or several tools that do not communicate.

I look at that gap first. A focused custom feature may be enough; a larger plugin or integration may be more appropriate. You get a practical recommendation based on how the work needs to happen.

BUILT AROUND YOUR REQUIREMENTS

From a useful website feature to a complete plugin product.

Each project starts with a defined purpose and a sensible scope. These are some of the areas I can explore together.

WordPress features & admin tools

Custom forms, member workflows, dashboards, content tools, calculations and features that make an existing website more useful.

WooCommerce functionality

Tailored product options, order workflows, merchandising, reporting and shop features designed around the way you sell.

APIs & business integrations

Connect your website to suitable CRM, booking, accounting, stock or other business systems, subject to the access and capabilities they provide.

Shopify apps & integrations

Explore a custom app, a connected service or a Shopify integration where the platform's APIs and your store setup support the requirement.

AI-assisted features

Add guided content drafting, useful assistants or structured processing to a workflow, with appropriate review and controls.

Plugins for commercial release

Plan a plugin for a wider audience, including its user experience, settings, licensing requirements, documentation and release approach.

THREE WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER

Choose a development model that fits the idea.

I discuss the commercial arrangement before development begins, so the responsibilities and expectations are clear.

FOR YOUR BUSINESS

A bespoke plugin for your own website

Commission functionality for your business's WordPress site or WooCommerce shop. I agree the features, integrations, delivery and any ongoing maintenance your setup needs.

COMMERCIAL PRODUCT

A commissioned plugin to sell

Fund the development of a commercial plugin through an agreed project fee, with no ongoing developer revenue share. Ownership or licensing, distribution rights, source delivery and support are set out in the agreement.

AGREED COLLABORATION

Development contribution + revenue share

For a suitable product idea, I can discuss an agreed contribution towards development plus an ongoing share of revenue. The written agreement defines my support and updates, each party's responsibilities, and how revenue is measured and shared.

Every project is individually quoted. Scope, intellectual property, usage rights, support, update commitments and any revenue terms are agreed in writing. A revenue-share arrangement is considered for suitable projects and is subject to mutual agreement.

I BUILD MY OWN TOOLS TOO

Meet CAS Plugins, my own plugin brand.

I founded CAS Plugins to bring my own practical WordPress and WooCommerce tools to market. The live collection gives you a direct look at the software I design and develop.

My growing collection includes tools for content, navigation and online shops. Explore the product pages to see how I approach features and usability.

CAS AI Content Generator

An AI-assisted WordPress content workflow covering ideas, article creation, images and publishing features. A useful example of bringing several connected tasks into one tool.

CAS Bespoke Menu

A WordPress navigation tool with desktop menus, responsive mobile navigation and visual controls. Built around the everyday need to make a website easier to explore.

FROM BRIEF TO WORKING SOFTWARE

A clear route through development.

01

Define the job

I discuss the users, current process, desired outcome and systems involved. Existing plugins and platform limitations are checked before choosing a direction.

02

Agree the scope

You receive a proposal covering the functionality, delivery stages, assumptions and commercial terms. I decide what belongs in the first release.

03

Build & review

Development follows the agreed scope, with review points appropriate to the project. Your feedback helps confirm how the feature should work in practice.

04

Test, hand over & launch

I check the agreed workflows in the relevant environment, prepare the handover and plan deployment. Any maintenance or next development phase is agreed separately.

DETAILS THAT MATTER AFTER LAUNCH

Useful software needs a considered foundation.

A feature must fit the wider website, the people using it and the systems it depends on. I address those details as part of the agreed build.

A sensible user experience

Settings and workflows should be understandable. I aim for clear controls that help users complete the task without unnecessary complexity.

Appropriate technical checks

Permissions, input handling, dependencies, compatibility and performance are considered in relation to the functionality and environment.

A planned handover

I agree what documentation, access, training and deployment assistance are included, so your team knows how to use the finished work.

Support with defined terms

Ongoing support and updates can be arranged. Coverage, duration, response expectations and changes outside the original scope are defined in your agreement.

BEFORE YOU GET IN TOUCH

Custom plugin development questions.

Yes. I first review the requirement and the relevant parts of your setup, including the theme, plugins and services involved. This helps me recommend an approach and identify any dependencies before quoting.

Yes. I can discuss a commercial plugin commissioned for an agreed development fee, without an ongoing developer revenue share. Distribution rights, ownership or licensing, documentation, support and future updates must be agreed as part of the project.

For a suitable idea, I may agree an initial development contribution plus an ongoing revenue share. The percentage, revenue calculation, reporting, support, updates, responsibilities and exit arrangements are agreed in writing before work begins.

Ownership and usage rights depend on the agreed development model and the components used. I explain the proposed terms before you commit, including any third-party or open-source licensing that applies.

I can assess Shopify app and integration requirements. The approach depends on your store, the necessary API access and Shopify's platform capabilities. WordPress and WooCommerce plugins use a different architecture, so I scope the appropriate solution for each platform.

Every project is quoted individually. Features, integrations, complexity and the release plan determine the budget and schedule. Send a short outline and I can identify what needs to be clarified before providing a proposal.

The proposal states what is included at delivery. Ongoing support and updates can be agreed, with a defined scope and duration. New features, changing third-party systems and compatibility work are handled according to those terms.

START WITH A CONVERSATION

What would make your website or business work better?

Tell me what you want the plugin to do, who will use it and whether it is for your own business or a product you plan to sell. You do not need a technical specification to start.
